Guys, just received a real nice M34 cap from overseas and the cap is pretty wet inside, almost like it was left out in the rain. It has that wet wool smell inside the cap especially. Is it best to just let air dry? I would think they got wet enough in the field and they just let them dry out. Any concerns I should have about mold, stiffness from being wet or possible rot? Thanks in advance for your help! Mike.

Mike, it was shipped via German post. It really looked like someone jumped up and down on it because the box was flattened. Fortunately it was a soft cap but the inside was really wet. I checked this morning after putting a light wooden dowel to hold it open and it seemed mush drier and the wet smell was dissipating. I was pretty surprised how it came and no record of damage listed on the box. That is why I almost suspected it was done intentionally in transit. thanks, Mike.
