    Liner Damage

I recently purchased am original Para from a recognised dealer. Unfortunately, when the helmet was received, a small tear (about 1") was apparent between two of the holes in the liner which wasn't clear in the pics before transit. (I am not complaining about the deler here). The liner appears worn and fragile. Whilst the two damaged flaps can be butted together, I assume it is best to leave them alone rather than risk further damage. Is it best to store/displa the helmet right side up or perhaps cover it and rest it on its crown?
    Thanks,

John, Sorry to hear about you liner. I would not do anything to risk further damage to the leather. Do not even apply leather conditioners. They help in destroying leather, and collect dust and humidity. Please do not stick it on a foam or mannequin head. You also made a reference to cover it up. Please do not do this. You will risk rusting the helmet. Keep the humidity levels to btween 43-45%. If you do not have a humidity gauge you my want to invest in one. storing it upside down is okay. Paul

Thanks Paul for your advice. I have it stored with my other helmets in a reatively dust free and dry cupboard. The liner is well stained from use already. I certainly would not use leather conditioner.
