Restoration work

My apologies if there's already a thread, or threads, on this topic.

I'm curious if there's any info that anyone has regarding a source for good restoration work, specifically reapplication of original insignia on original tunics etc.

I agree that such a source would certainly be useful. However, I do not know of any such source that exists. If there is one, I also hope someone chimes in here to let us all know about it.

Are you looking for someone who is skilled and knowledgeable with the types of stitching, thread, etc. it would take to seamlessly add insignia back to a tunic? I know a couple of restoration geniuses (and 40 year collectors) who are up to the task. I only think something like this should be done to repair tunics though, not to augment the value by adding stuff that shouldn't be there.

I was referring to someone who could accurately restore a tunic with it's original insignia, not create a fantasy piece.
