            just found this thread, please show us more before and after pics!! I love stuff like this, my favourite shows on the discovery channel are "from wrecks to riches", "overhauled" and "tank overhaul"!! So restoring old helmets dug from the ground is so interesting, post more!

                  Amazing work and an awesome job, it amazes me how right now there is a conversation going on over in the Helmet Forum of a Gentleman that restored 3 of his helmets back to issue condition and he's being BLASTED for it.... I collect and have been so doing since i was a kid and there are items in my collection that I've restored back to original German Issue if it was in Relic or Post War condition..
                  To me as long as you State it's restored it's ok unlike some of the crooks on Ebay that don't.

                        Omg-you are doing a fantastic job-I too do not enjoy very much the idea of restoring items but you seem to pay attention to every detail and the end result is stunning + I guess by restoring these rusty helmets you increase their lifetime - please post more pictures if you have any

                          I agree with what Jean-Loup said - it seemed like a nice shell with original paint still that I would have treasured on it's own - but you did a great job!

                              Fantastic job of restoration, though I would have stabilised the FJ lid, but otherwise left it as it was. Great work, and entirely a matter of choice, thanks for showing the results.
