    Removing paint from wooden box?

I'm new to this forum, so Hello to everyone,

I found this box at a garage sale yesterday.
It's a le.FH18 case for cartridges (right word?).

Well, someone painted it over, you can see the original green paint below it.
It flakes off a bit when you scratch with your fingernail.

Anyone got an idea how to remove the black paint without damaging the original paint?

I thought of freezing and heating, so the thick and brittle overpaint will hopefully maybe crack and fall off..?

    Thanks for any advise,
    Chris

I would leave it as it is if it was my box

      Cheers

I was hoping the white labelling is under the overpaint, but unless there is a good method to remove the paint without destroying the paint below I better leave it as it is, you are right.

        Bye,
        Chris
