    Plastic conservation and Iron Crosses

    Hello all, Im going to buy some Riker mounts but not yet, so before that, I would loved to hear if this is OK for these 2 EK2's.

    Air gets in on the right side, but it this a bad environment for 2 ek1s?

    At the moment, my EK2s are stored on an frame without any glass, on a paper sheet. Its just for some time before I get the Riker Mounts, but I want them to be in a good environment.

    This room holds about 22 degrees and its dry here.

    This is just a place for these beauties for a few months MAX, but is it even safe for a few months?

      Hello,

      I have recently been learning about the different types of "plastics" that are used for storage. One of our members has just had a MOD pin a thread on that very issue. Have a look just above your current thread at this one...

      In short, some are safe and some are not. Riker Mounts are also known to have issues as well.

          I can't find a mark or anything on this plastic thing, so the crosses are out of the plastic before I know if it's a safe place for a few months.

            im a pro drummer (well i was before getting ill treatments finally starting now though!)

            if you know anyone who plays drums ask for their old drum heads. theyre made of mylar film (or kevlar on marching high tension heads). usually medium weight heads so 7 mil thickness, heavy are either 10 or two plies of 7.

            uncle joels useful tip there.
