Picklehaube visor repair question

I have a Bavarian officer's Pickelhaube that is in decent enough shape. However the front visor stitching is all but gone and with the chinscales sitting atop the visor, the visor hangs below the rim of the shell. I am too afraid to take out the rather fragile liner to facilitate stitching the visor back in place. Is there anyone that can recommend a fix or knows of someone who would charge reasonably to fix this? Any help appreciated.
