Rust breaking through EK core paint

    Hello all

I have a very nice mint 26 EK1 its in prime shape apart from the fact there are lumpy 'bubbles' coming up through the black paint on the core (rust).

One such lump has cracked open to show the rust.

what will happen to this cross over time ie will the rust continue to come through the paint work.

is there anything I can do to either stop/slow down the rusting process and also to protect the cross from further deterioration?

At present I have applied some Pet. vasoline to the rust area, but it makes the paint core look like cr*p.

    thanks

    Dave

If you keep the cross in an environment with less than 50 percent humidity the rust will stop growing and eventually, turn black.
