cloth headgear display help

hi all
just purchased a lovely hj overseas summer cap and want to display it what is the best and safest way.
ive been looking into getting a display head if i do what material should i look for and what should i avoid i suppose the polystyrene types would be bad, but what about the glass type or the type used for mannequins are thes any better os should i avoid these in any material

Hi Stuart, you are right to avoid the polystyrene ones

I use glass myself. Mannequin type heads are fine. Remember to keep the display out of direct sunlight. Inside a glass cabinet is also a good idea to keep off dust and possible moth attack.

i would look into conservation glass if you are truely wanting to keep it safe from the harm of light.
