    Uboat/Panzer Leather jacket

I got one just today. The leather is still very nice and maleable but was worn in some places to the point where it was nearly raw leather. Now some will cringe at this but I gave it a good coat of polish to bring it back to it's former glory and keep it from drying out further. Also some seams were completly ripped open so I very carefully stitched them back in the original stitch holes. It's already looking better and plan on using it for re-enacting (not going to beat it in the bush, and possibly as a fall/srping jacket) (I can hear more of you cringe at that comment! sorry!)

Now my question is, the buttons are large black metal with 4 holes in the centre. some seem to have the original stitching but some have obviously been replaced with blue thread, as were some seams. I was thinking of putting on pebble buttons but first wanted some general opinions?

If anyone wants pictures let me know I'll try to get some up in the next few days.

    Hello Gesetz,

If you want to use it as a panzer jacket i would put on the pebbled buttons. Most pictures of panzer men showing the pebbled buttons on the jackets. I believe that it are the 19 mm buttons. Do you have a picture of the jacket?

    regards

    Erwin

Let me know if you want closeups of anything.
As I said the buttons are metal and there is a small brown plastic one on the other side of the leather.
