Mannequin stand; any tips and trics ?

Hi Guys,

A lot of mannequins that are displayed on this forum seem to stand on there own. Are there any tips how to safely display an fully equiped mannequin ? For example a steel wire around the mannequin and connected to the back wall ? Or perhaps......... Any tips would be appreciated .

All my mannequins lean, in some way or the other, against the wall, I have tried to make them stand on there own in the past but the risks, especially having my little daughter around and I think you know what I mean Jacco my friend having kids of your own, is to big and it occurred to me a couple of times that a mannequin actually fell down, sometimes taking one or two other mannequins with him.

Yes Meindert, the risks having kids around are to great so I am looking for a nice way safe way of securing the mannequin. But before figuring it out myself there must be a forummember who found an perfect solution for this 'problem' ....

If you want a complete save way to display your mannequin, than you should tie your kids up instead of the mannequin.

The No.# 2 cut has worked well for me also. You'll often have to cut off a little bit of heel too. They sometimes wont fit through the ankle section of a stiff upper officer's boot. Living here in So Cal, where we have earthquakes from time to time, I've also opted to anchor them to a wall. With 100 lb. test fishing line, it's not noticable, at all...

Even here where the anchor had to be placed above a window, makes the display very secure.
