    Vinyl medal envelopes for storage?

    Hello All,

    Please post any opinions you guys may have on the use of the vinyl medal envelopes for storage/archival of TR medals and badges.
    This, in the hope of showing the for and against points, to their use.

    My opinion is that they are not the best to keep any type of medal in. They dont breath so if there is moisture it has no place to go, and there is also an issue with the chemical make up of vinyl and what reaction it can have with medals/awards. Have you tried the search function, as I am sure there should be a few threads on this topic.

      Not good. They give off a chemical gas that will damage finishes and surfaces according to coin collectors.
