Cleaning Ribbons

Does anyone have advice as to how to go about cleaning the ribbon on a Purple Heart?
It is the older variant, so I am guessing that it is possibly cotton.

I would not clean this one at all - for me a decent old ribbon, even a bit dirty or faded, is much better than brigzht new fake or even questionable one. Beside that, ti's more likely to mess it up than do any good.

I would agree with Valter. That ribbon matches the wear / age of the medal nicely. Please leave it "as is".
