    How to preserve photoalbums?

I have a serious problem here.
The nice thing about photoalbums is, that a slightly different envirement can have negative affects on the album.
    Here is the case:

A photoalbum lay in storage for years, for example in a country where they have a tropical climate. Now, i buy this album from them and put it in my room, in Holland. Holland as you might know, has a wonderfull climate... Anything, but tropical. Anyway, my point is the climate difference between the two. This difference has most of the time a big impact on the album. The paper of the album is going to wrinkle and this is something i don't like and want to prevent from happening. Since it is impossible to create a tropical climate in Holland.
Therefore, i'm asking all of you for your ideas!

    Regards,
    Jasper

Yes, different temp. and humidity can play an important part in preservation of that album. Idealy a humidity of between 40- 45% is best. Sometimes rapid change in heat and humidity can cause a ripple in the paper. Also how the photos were originally mounted in the album. If they were glued down to the paper itself the glue could be changing structure as well. The glue could be picking up moisture and is expanding, or contacting under the photo with the change in climate. Best advise Keep it away from direct heat and sunlight. Keep it flat and watch the humidity. Paul R.
