Advice pls.. repair of Me 109 pilot Flugbuch

    Hi

I own an original 'Flugbuch' (log-book) relating to an Me 109 pilot. Its obviously a fairly rare document and I am considering a spine repair.

    1) Should I do this?

    2) Where could I get it done professionally?

I live in the UK so perhaps someone local would be best.

    Pics attached.

    Thanks for looking,
    Viscount.

These shots are of the only damage to the spine in the whole book.

            Thanks,
            Viscount.

Well, I don't think the damage is that bad and to be honest, it it were me I would just leave it as is. Personally, I have a problem with almost any type of repair or restoration of militaria items. I'd much rather have it 100% original because to me, a repair or restoration just decreases from the "value"

Hi Viscount, I would pretty much agree with Rob.

                Cheers, Ade.

The damage doesn't bother me at all.
I would rather own it in this condition (which I really don't think detracts) than have any restoration.
                  Regards,
                  RAY.

                    hi!
I would let the book as it is!
Why restored it? The damage is not so bad, and is better let it as the time have put it in your hand!!!
                    cheers, frank

                      Thanks all for your advice

I'll go with the flow and leave the 'Flugbuch' as it is. The opinions seem to be that the slight 'damage' does not detract from the item. That's good enough for me.

                      Thanks again,
                      Viscount.

may you share with us some of the more interesting pages of the fligbuch?
many tanks in advance. Kindly, frank
