Do you have your Visor Hats on display all the Time.

I ask this Question because I do have mine on display all the Time. I like to see them each day.
but now I start to get a little paranoid about Moths and dirt/dust.

I do not have them in a Vitrine or behind glass and I guess,if I wouldn't "play" with them each week,the dust would start to grow on them and maybe also moths.

So should I wrap them up in Plastic Bags and put them in a Closet? Or is a weekly cleaning and a bit of Moth Spray good enough to have the Hats on display all the Time?

As much as I hated doing it, I've put mine in big ziploc bags because of dust and fear of moths. I have a couple hats out on display at any given time (I rotate) and watch those on display like a hawk for moths. I think unfortunately this is the continuing 'maintenance cost' we incur for collecting soft headgear ... unless, of course, you are fortunate enough to have a climate controlled 'war-room' like some members have.

I build display shelves in a closet in my war room. That way I just have to open the doors and enjoy. I also keep a tin filled with a product called “MothAway” it is natural with a pleasant smell. It seems to work and is a much better smell than mothballs.

Since all my visor hats are fairly common, I display mine all the time. They are all made of cotton or a cotton/poly blend and moths are not an issue for me.
That being said, I don't store any of my militaria in ziploc or plastic baggies anymore. Someone told me that the chemicals in the plastic will eventually deteriorate the leather and fabric. I don't know if that is true, perhaps someone on here could tell us. Also, I live in a fairly humid climate and I'm afraid of condensation forming on the inside of the plastic baggies. I have a dehumidifier set up in my war room and this seems to help regualte things a bit.

I use "Moth-Papers" they do not smell at all..but the Problem is,I don't know if they actually do what they are supposed to do

I have one Stripe of that paper inside the Visor Hats and one Stripe on top of the Hat. You cannot really see the Papers because,I have them displayed on eye-height. And each month I use a kind of moth Spray but only just abit and very carfully.

What about natural sunlight through the Window? Does the colour fade out?

Direct sunlight must be avoided by all means. About the light reflected from the walls and the furniture - don't know, maybe too little to make damage?

Any sunlight
