re-finishing blades.

Hi Guy's,
Is it possible to have a stainless gravity knife blade re-finished to its original cross grained state? i have a mint takedown example by smf but the blade which is unsharpened has i'm sure, been post-war polished to a mirror finish which i'm sure is not correct, does anyone know if this can be done here in the UK? and if so where?

i dont have take down here at the moment, but didnt they produce them with out crossgraining like the HJ's?
