    Care for helmet liners

    Hello all,

So do you put saddle soap on the liners of helmets to keep them soft and supple?

Please let me know either way. Thank you.

Hi William, this one is easy to answer: do nothing except keep the helmet in a stable envoiroment.

    Cheers, Ade.

      not a problem

      Adrian,

Thanks so much, that's what I thought. I am a medals guy and I never touch any of them except with a Vaseline treatment when needed. It never hurts to ask though!

        The liner looks fine.
Don't do anything to it as Ade stated. It'll only decrease the value.
A nice pure untouched helmet is worth more and more desireable than one that has be altered.

            Helmet liner care

            Guys,
I just got a helmet that has some liner issues. Its dry and flaky and small pieces fall off. I know not to touch it , but is there anything that I might be able to spray on it to stop the deterioration. Its a fairly rare helmet and I want to keep it as original as possible. Thanks!

                  Helmet Liner

Thanks for the suggestion Matt. Several people that i have talked to today have said just to leave it alone and not mess with it. Thats probably what I will do and store it as carefully as possible and hope for the best.

                    Hello,

Yes, I thought about using some saddle soap and mink oil but I decided to just leave it alone. At least I will be happy that it is all original and that I did not change anything.
