    Cleaning optics of MG-Z34

Hi all. I have just bought a nice condition 'Voigtlander-Braunschweig' MG-Z34 in it's can complete with both filters and strap for the can. The optics are a little misty and there are some minute black pin pricks visible when viewed in strong light. Is there any method or anyone in the UK that can clean these or is it just as well to leave it alone? Before anyone suggests returning to manufacturer I'm sure that it's no longer under warranty!! Cheers.

    Cleaning.

Cleaning is best done by a professional unless you know someone who knows what tey are doing and who has the tools to do the job.

A good repair man for optics is Mr. Douglas Biggart who runs Glasgow Binocular Repairs.
    Chambers Building,
    93, Hope Street,
    Glasgow.

He is 100% sound and does an excellent job at a fair price. ( I would not send mine anywhere else ).

As far as cleaing goes. Some folks say it is wrong to clean optical items as it changes their original state.
I look at things a different way.
If there is fungal growth on the optical surfaces it will soon eat into coatings and destroy the glass , once this is done its done.
These items were not meant to last 70 years without any service work.
I use what I own and I have had them cleaned to get them back to top of the line order.

Give Dougie a call he is a good man .

Thanks for that James. I'll give him a bell on Monday.
