    Japanese sword

    Hi everyone.
    Looking for advice,i have been offered Japanese officers sword,vet.bring back from Singapore,last war.Only prob. being it was slightly bent in transit,is ther any way this can be rectified.Advice please.

    Perhaps, it is a risk though. Depending on the age of the sword would help determine the odds. The older they are, the easier in general. The newer they are the easier they are to break or form a crack.

      Mike, I assume you are refering to the blade as being bent. It can be straightened but you need someone who is experienced in this otherwise you may end up worse than when you started. It is generally done with two wooden billets with a groove in them. If you are serious about getting it straightened, please send me or post a photo of the piece.
