Preservation of family paper heirloom help

My grandpa picked this up on Iwo Jima. I've noticed it getting weaker and weaker as the years go by. What's the VERY BEST way to preserve this? Thanks.

Place in a chemically inert document holder and keep at 30%-50% humidity if possible.

Where's the best place to go to get a chem. inert doc holder? I'm guessing it's not something you can just run and grab at Staples...

Contact an archive supplies website and check out their offerings for such items. Shouldn't be too difficult to find exactly what you want.

Whatever you do, do NOT laminate this item.

Go to Google and search for Archive supplies or conservator supplies.

          Good hunting.

I agree - In addition be sure to keep it out of the light and try to limit your handeling of the item. I make scans and or photocopies of all my documents and use the copies for my research.
