    Corrosion on a set of tabs

    Heres a set of tabs I recived today, lots of corrosion on the bullion

    Here's what they look like after I scrubed them with a babies toothbrush. Is this similar to "Zinc Pest", any ideas how to stop the spread, do I want to use vaseline??? Any help appreciated. Thanks for looking

      I hope you're going to wash that toothbrush off before you give it back to the baby!

        I was told that G-86 (a gun product) works well with aluminum corrosion. I have not tried it yet but was told put some in a small cap an touch it up with a fine paint brush,

            I do not. I was told about it at the SOS and have not gone to look for it yet. The guy I talked to said he used it on a field marshal fender pennant that had corroded and it has not returned after 15 years.

                The stuff is called G-96. Did wd40 work?

                  Rust on bullion

                  I have a rusted bullion eagle on a tunic;
                  the mentioned products does not leave stains on the cloth?

                      ..not if you apply it very sparingly with a Q-Tip, just enough to wet the end. First brush off all the corrosion you can with a child's toothbrush.
