    silica beads/dessicant?

Can someone please post a link to an effective, safe, silica bead or dessicant? Either on e-bay or some source where I can buy on the web?
    Thanks!

These look pretty cool because they actually tell you when to change them out-hope this helps

Chris is correct that most silica gel dealers never say anything about changing them out. Depending on the humidity and temperature, silica beads may not last a month. The other item they fail to disclose is that most can be reactivated by placing them in a 250 degree oven for a couple of hours.

        Thanks guys.

What would be truly useful would be seeing some photos of how you guys integrate these items with your collection!

There is a commercial product called Damp-Rid that works fairly well. I use it in my boxes and it has worked. You can get little Damp-Rid packets that have color change crystals. They are blue and then turn pink when they are ready to be changed. They also have a cup/bucket version that houses Damp-Rid. It can be refilled with Damp-Rid. I think it is calcium chloride. Calcium chloride pulls moisture out of the air. Hope this helps. I got mine at Wal-Mart.

Damp-Rid works really well. There is a bucket version like NKOMO said, you can buy refills for it. I personally use the Damp-Rid tray, although you can't refill it. It lasts about 60 days just like the bucket version but isn't as bulky. Both seem to be priced well. I use it in my weapons cabinet, closests, etc.

If you want small handy sachets of Silica Gel Beads go to your local sports/shoe shop and ask them for the small bags that come with training / running shoes. You could also go to your local guitar store and ask them.
Every pair of training shoes and every Guitar is supplied to the shop with several of these small bags which they just throw in the bin.

I've bought from these guys. They will turn from blue to pink when it is time to dry them out.
