    Panzerfaust Paint Preservation

Hi all. I have a great Panzerfaust, but the paint has naturally faded quite a bit over its 75 years. Is there a way to preserve it from any further fading?
    Thanks in advance.

You can buy a UV resistant clear coat that will stop the degradation of the paint as well as prevent the finish from becoming damaged. These come in matte finishes so you wont be putting a shine on your object. This is up to you but I would lightly degrease the piece before I sealed it with a very gentle terry type cloth and a non-abrasive, non-acidic degreaser to remove any oils that are likely on it. Eastwood makes a nice Patina sealer that stops rust and seals paint on metal nicely.

Once you seal it that's it. Its obviously a done deal so if you are wanting to try to bring out the finish more with something like Oxalic acid you would need to do that before the above. Very nasty stuff but amazing results are achieved with it.
