Knights Cross Bead frosting

I have an S&L postwar troop sovenier RK. I would like to refrost/repaint the beaded edge. Is this possible? What should I use? regular white paint? has anyone else restored a medals frosting?

Really if you find souvenirs you should leave scratch games them in their original condition. Quite interesting that the website provides memorable memories.
