    My Son’s US Medal Collection

    Hello,
My 16 year old son has been collecting US awards for 7 years now. This is a grouping he has completed of four of the higher US Army awards (the exception being the MOH).

The top is the Distinguished Service Cross. This early cased serial numbered example has a full wrap brooch. On the left is a Bronze Star with slot brooch. The right award is an early serial numbered Silver Star with full wrap brooch. The bottom is a sterling silver US Navy/USMC Purple Heart with split wrap brooch. This Purple Heart was awarded to my stepdad’s father.

My son is very proud of his collection.

    Regards,
    Jody

                    Hello,
My son has a part time job and he even sells toys and other things on the side. He likes the German stuff, but he also likes US stuff (I have always collected it as well). Why not, he is American and he is also an officer in the JROTC. The hobby isn’t that time consuming for him. He likes it, but he isn’t a fanatic over it. I bet he spends less than an hour a week on it. He wants a Navy Cross and after that he is good to go for awhile. As far as grades go he has a 4.0 and is in the top 5 at his high school.

School just ended for the summer and here is his latest grade report.

                    Regards,
                    Jody
