              They were worn by Heer members, but not by the Waffen-SS.
              Here is a foto out of the great book "Battle of the bulge - then and now":
              (Must be a still as i remember seeing that footage on TV, and an interview with the young soldier on the right, about his experiences in the ardennes)

                I very tasteful display

                Just a personal view on the gloves; must have been quite useless gloves as those would have been soaking wet in winter as well
