            NIce collection!

Love the Swedish Brigade medal bar with the so typical replaced ribbon on the Swerdish Brigade medal since the original was made in silk which of course deteriorates with time and wear!
            Regards
            Hans N

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

Thank you, it's one of my favourites yes, the silk ribbon is fragile also because it's so thin. I think the owner of the bar is Finnish, not swedish. As the person has the clasp of the VSMM engraved in Finnish, not swedish. The Winter War medal is also for the domestic fighters, not for the foreigners.

This makes sense as there were a few Finnish people who derved in the Swedish brigade.

Yes i agree with you 100%! It´s very unlikely to have been a swedish volunteers medal bar.

I have a Swedish brigade medal that still has it´s silk ribbon! Although i don´t dare to handle it any more and i have it stored in a plastic coin pocket.
                Regards

Here's something new that I've got.
An authentic armband from the Finnish War of Liberation 1918. It's a White Guard armband from the Kajaanin Sissirykmentti (Kajaani Guerrilla regiment). You can see from the stitching that it has been worn. It's very rare. It's one of two variations.

As an interesting fact, the 8th President of Finland, Urho Kekkonen fought as a 17-year old boy in this particular regiment, "fighting in the battles of Kuopio, Varkaus, Mouhu, and Vyborg, and taking part in mop-up operations, including leading a firing squad in Hamina." (extract from Wikipedia, link here ). The black and white photo below shows Urho Kekkonen on the right (arrow pointed at him). In the same photograph you can see a soldier (with the sabre) with the same type of armband that I have and on others (squared with red) the other stitched armband variation from this regiemnt.

Here are a few photos of how I display some of the items that I have, mainly in cushioned glass frames. For the sake of decent pictures, I removed the glass to photograph them.

                    Best regards,
                    Daniel

Finally got the "cut off" Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler officer's cuff title, that's been months on the way to me

Judging your collection i take it that the 2nd class Cross of Liberty is a 1918 issue?

                          Yes, that CoL2 is a 1918.

A very interesting Stalingrad grouping came in a few days ago.
The ones who are interested to read the story of the soldier who fought in Stalingrad (in the city) and perished there, open the link below.
