Hi everyone, I realized I have been posting pictures of my tunic in multiple different threads so I thought I would make a thread and put all the pictures in one place. The tunic is for an Oberleutnant of Infanterie-Regiment 48 / Grenadier-Regiment 48 with loops for a DKiG. The EK1, IAB, and DKiG on this tunic are reproductions medals I aged. Everything else is original as far as I know. Something interesting I found in the tunic were old dried pine needles in the front pockets. They crumbled apart when I touched them so I think they are a bit old. The first two photos were taken by me and the last six were taken by Michael Davis, who I purchased the tunic from. I am currently in the process of contacting the seller who consigned this tunic to Michael to see if I can trace its history back. Hope you enjoy

Looks like a nice tunic. The pine needles were probably some collectors "anti-moth" measures, although I can't say how effective those would be.
I've found moth paper and cedar balls in pockets a number of times. I tend not to put anything in a uniform but have hanging anti-insect products in my closets.

Update: Got a reply from the consingor and it didn’t reveal much. The elderly consignor said he got it from another collector but he never asked where the collector he bought the tunic from, got it from. I’ve gotten good feedback from some good guys here on the forum vouching for the authenticity of the loops and tunic in general so I am not too concerned anymore with the provenance to prove it’s authenticity anymore. Anyways, because of this I’ll go ahead and send tracing requests for the final four possibilities, (ELT Gerhard Kruse, RKT Siegfried Moldenhauer, Oblt. Hans-Axel Freiherr von Maltzahn, and Oblt. Hans Metzner). I’ll post another update once those tracing requests finally get back to me.
