    Ordensspange collection

I thought I would show you most of my medal bar/ordensspange collection.I spent the whole of last Saturday messing about with them until I was happy. The case I had to have made .It now hangs on the wall rather than tucked away in medal trays.I made sure they don't hang in direct sunlight.

Thanks Jose I know it's never going to be on the same grand scale as your fantastic collection. I just like the variation and styles.I don't have any Condor legion bars yet but will keep a lookout.

Very nice indeed; great collection of TR types. Really like the custom case! (I have a few in small hanging cases & like seeing them presented like that.)

Beautiful collection and very well displayed collection of TR medal bars Troy! Beats the living dayligh out of my "Tupperware container/bankers envelopes" collection where nothing is visible (or easily accessible for that matter). Not too brilliant but I did get as far as buying frames to do something similar to you before I noticed I didnt have nearly enough wall space in (what my wife calls) my "junk room"

            Great display!

Thank you for all the kind comments guys-much appreciated .
As for wall space JC that's also an issue in our third bedroom -my wife calls it
" the third reich room".Space is limited so I had to be selective on what goes on the wall. The frame itself was inexpensive .Mounting the medals was a bit tricky but in the end I used tiny screw eye hooks approx 10 mm in length purchased from flea bay -these screw hooks allowed the pin on the medal bar to slide through for a firm fix to the backboard of the case.
I was fed up of not being able to see and enjoy some of my collection, most of which is still tucked away in Riker display cases out of view.
                  Cheers
                  Troy

Thanks for your words! Collecting ordensspanges is very rewarding, they are a type of pieces that you know were used by a man (combatant or not). And within collecting ordensspanges, you can specialize in some type. For example, I have found to have medal bars with the most medals of the Third Reich, and also on ordensspanges with foreign medals or orders. I encourage you to continue with your project!

                    Regards
                    Jose
