I'm verdy sad to say, but none of this insignia is original... All copies. I hope you did not pay a fortune for this. Also the tunic does not look ok.

Bilou, if you would post pictures of the insignia, cap and tunic details in the Heer uniform and insignia forum you would be doing yourself a big favor.

I have no reasons to be 'jalous' .... I just wanted to help you. Did you buy those things at the same seller?

Do what pauke says and you will see.

this uniform was found by my father in the 60's in a farmerhouse (Bauernhaus) in Bettendorf (near Diekirch in Luxbg) and still stand in our possession 'untouched', 'uncleaned' 'til now....
And I'm not sure a farmer in the sixties will already maked copies...

The insignias are from the first generation ( maschinengestickt), and were used before and with the 'Bewo period' ones. It's very easy just to say 'repro' just because it isn't a bloddy 'bewo' one. Ok colour is faded...but after 75 years under UV....

I am not talking about bevo, these are just known copies. But no problem, it seems you are ok with it.

Regardless of the story behind finding them place the items on the Heer uniform and insignia forum for a true evaluation. The forum is not about jealousy, its about a factual discussion by numerous collectors who have experience. They don't evaluate stories, only the originality of items.

Yes, an early pundit learned by budding collectors.
"Buy the item, not the story".
I am always amenable to hearing the "story" after the item in question
                            makes the cut.."

                              Greetings young man,

I cannot speak to the authenticity of the uniform or insignia, but please don't take offense that they are being questioned. If, as you say, (and I have no reason to doubt your word) the tunic was found untouched so long ago, then perhaps there is something important to our hobby to be learned here. I hope you will give those with knowledge of uniforms and insignia the opportunity to have a closer look at all aspects of the piece and trust that they will judge it fairly based only on the merits of the item.

That said, I very much like the look of your display. It reminds me of so many photos in my archive showing Heer soldiers at moments of rest and recuperation. The posture, blouse unbuttoned, and mess kit in hand all communicate very well the reality of a soldier's life.

Thank you for sharing your display.

                              Kind Regards,

                              Z
