Your medal bar collection is impressive. - so is your period photo collection of similar bars in wear. I am not sure which portion of your collection I like better, the bars or the photographs. Together it makes one amazing collection.

A interesting and clear photo, austrian veteran with its ordensspange, a typical austrian medal bar form.

Agreed! Period pictures are worth 1000 words! I find the picture with the Autrian mount medal bar 2 posts down very interesting. According to a previous thread here on Austrian mounts TR period medals were never mounted that way (like the Hindenburg cross show in your picture). I guess the vet in the pict didnt bother remounting his bar to comply to "post Anschluss" regulations which is reasonable given he wasnt in "active " service.

                  Great stuff Jose!

Well, never say never; we've seen some crazy stuff on here over the years

However, when we see tri-fold mounted 1939EKs or flower war medals or even Ost medals, that seems pretty strange IMO. But again; rules are made to be broken and the Germans certainly did.

Thanks mates! Thanks for your comments! Yes, certainly, for my bars collection, I always try to find sharp, rare photos, with a great variety of decorations and situations. I value that very much.
                      Regards!

That is a nice addition Jose. Then again I'm a sucker for enamel.
