    Creative ways to display documents

    Hello all.

I've accumulated nearly 50 award documents (trying to get one for each medal/badge I own) and wall space is becoming a premium. I would like to display them all, but I've reached the capacity of my room to have them framed and hanging independently.

I'm trying to come up with some ways to conserve space but still allow me to display as many as possible.

    What are some ideas?

    Thanks!

I would suggest you make high quality 1/1 copies of the docs for display, because the light will eventually destroy them. Keep the originals in safe documentary storage. Using copies also allows you to be more creative in the mounting. J

Agree 100%. I know this from experience.
As for creative ways to display... when copying reduce them in size and display them together in groups. Better yet copy them digitally and edit them. Maybe make a long mural that you can stick right to the wall/walls. Or, I think they make digital picture frames that could flash all the images as a montage/video of them.

        Thanks for the responses!

All of these documents are in frames with 98 percent UV protective plastic (not cheap.)

Right now I'm considering a large framed piece that could contain 10 documents each...but that would require a custom build and probably even more expensive to get protective glass/plastic.

Just trying to see if there are more ideas.

It ain't worth the risk mate, don't leave 'em there. In one image I can actually see sunlight on the frames and it's gonna cause trouble. My doc faded on a wall that never saw sunlight.

I cannot recommend highly enough the use of copies for display. Put the originals in archival plastic display pages and put them in a nice binder. You can flip through them to your heart's content and they'll be safe.

          Rant over...
          Thanks,

Very wise advice. I have done lots of displays with paperwork in areas with no or very little natural light and trust me paper fade. J

Not a rant...probably sound advice...and I'm not going to have the wall space anyway.

              Maybe I could rotate them...

I have collected documents for some time. Because I want to keep them in the best condition possible - to preserve for whatever future generation that my documents get passed on to, I do not display. I found some archival quality, acid free "binders" with clear slip in pages that come in many sizes that accommodate any document I have. I still get to enjoy them, and have the binders in a place where open them up and view several times per month. It would be nice to have them displayed, but keeping them safe out-weighs my desire to hang them on a wall.

                  Good luck.

Hi, could you please post a link to the suggested binders? Seen many options in Amazon but does not know what to buy. Thanks
