Thanks. I need some new flags that are of display size. Mostly, I have either got small podium banners, or huge cruiser-sized Kriegsmarine flags, or a few like this 22-foot outdoor building banner..... the front of which is draped over a 70" flat screen to bring that into perspective. Gorgeous banner though. OMG!!!!

I LOVE big flags/banners! I don't care if you can't properly display them. Such epic echos of history.

Y'know Frank... most people don't get that but you're right. As i sit here at that very desk typing this under a vintage amber bulb above and with a vintage jazz station (always) playing on my faux Nazi radio, there is such an feeling of calm that embraces me. You really do feel warm and cozy. And having said that.... it's time for a Scotch while I respond to others on this thread! Prost !!!!!!

I actually brought my nephew down a few weeks ago during a family get together. The museum didn't phase him at all as he's a highly aware, intelligent, and well read kid who's a sponge for world history and just keen to learn anything along those lines. He's only 17 too.

And as a side bar to that.... his new girlfriend who is half German and her 90-year-old Aunt lives 15 minutes away from me and apparently has a basement of militaria from WW1 and WW2. I'm desperately trying to contain myself and play the "patience" game for an introduction to this woman and tour of the booty in the basement.

Correct. Not easy to share a hobby like this in 2018 with anyone. Best you can hope for is that the wife doesn't think you're crazy.

Most of my collection is contained in 2 shadowboxes which can be taken off the wall when her family comes over. Sure, there are dozens of WWII historical books on the bookshelf, but having a dozen daggers on display is a different animal. Now add displaying a flag or banner on the wall of a room? Who's going to understand that one?
