Kevin, the inside of the cases is made of a non corrosive type "sponge" is the best way to describe it!

Fantastic cases. I love the EKI and the SS insignia collection. SS isn't my thing and I don't know much about it, but it does display very well. Thanks for sharing.

P.S. Regarding the question about the material inside the plastic cases, I had cases and material identical to that many years ago in which I stored a number of EKIs. I'd caution you that, while I don't know what this stuff is made of, it will compress and break down over time. I had the crosses in storage for maybe 7-8 years or so. When I unpacked them, the black material had degraded beneath the crosses and left a residue on their reverse. I was able to very gently clean them up, but just be aware of that with this stuff.
