    Abrams Collection

This is part of Bob's collection, he sent me the photos a while ago to post but I messed up.....sorry
He's really looking for any information on the pieces but since it's a bit of a mix I thought I'd start here.

    Sorry again Bob!

Bob would appreciate any comments or help....as he told me he isn't really a collector (yet...I said that once too) but has an interest in these sorts of things.

Thanks in advance for your help and comments guys!

As I mentioned (I think twice), Bob isn't a collector, Nick since 1986.
Try paying a bit of attention in the future

Never the less he has a "collection" and I believe that it is "Nick since 1985" for those who are paying attention.

heheh....good call. I guess 86 just sounded better.

Thanks Eric for posting my photos. I bought the German gas mask canister at the old Pittsburgh show which has now moved I understand. I wonder what kind it is as now I know there are different kinds. I have the gas mask and as one photo shows, the soldier it was issued to has his name on the inside of the lid (I think that is additional charcoal in a packet for the mask?). Also, I got the water bottle at the same show.

The "cannon ball" is actually a mortar shell, I think. I got that from someone who was not sure. It is civil war era.

I'd be interested in anybody's comment about the Japanese rifle. It is sort of a family heirloom. My uncle got it at Iwo Jima when he came in as a Seabee to fix up the captured airfield.

The two tank shells sitting on the shelf are WWII. One is the German 88 and the other is a T34 practice shell.

The round sitting on the floor is a modern Russian 125 mm sabot round. One of my favorites as I like the modern era. I have a US CVC helmet too.

                              Thanks again, Eric!
