Haha thanks man. That wood is actually just cheap outdoor "deck" wood from Home Depot. I just laid three horizontal pieces on the ground and bolted on vertical pieces to make portable wall partitions, and slapped them up. Down and dirty, baby!! Barely an afternoon and two beers. But it worked.

      My two schillings.

Most of my flags came from Vets or the families of Vets, who for a generation kept those flags wrinkled and crumpled in boxes or trunks and God knows where from damp basements to dusty attics... and.... look at these flags.... still gorgeous, vibrant, and firmly stitched and together. (I only buy flags in very good / excellent condition cuz I ain't rich.)

If these flags can last through THAT abuse... I'm sure my delicate folding and storage in a finished basement in a dimly lit to dark museum will be just fine. And I also take them out to admire them sometimes before refolding them differently and returning them.

The bottom line is this. I want to visually enjoy that which i spend money on. I mean, these flags still look amazing after being hung out side in the 1930s, and/or flown on battleships on the ocean.... and then stuffed in Vet trunks for the next 60 years. Being cared for the way they are in my home display, they'll easily make it for another 60 years in the same condition.
That's fair enough. After all, there's not much point buying all this if it's stored away in a bank vault.
Plus the method of display just looks awesome!

I dont have the room to make a display like that. But would love to have one.
One of many reasons i collect medals. They dont take up much space

Very, very nice! I really like the wood backdrop around the room. The velvet podium banner works perfectly for the size of the room.

Impressive looking room. I can imagine sitting in there with a high-ball enjoying a good book. When can I come over?
