My 1 Panzer Division groups

And now a citation group for the brave Obergefreiter Karl Benk who received both EKs during the fighting in the East in December 1.943.

Now time for the two pieces from Panzer Artillerie Regiment 73, the last two I have for the division.

First the group for Unteroffizier Ernst Liessman, I have his Wehrpass and citations for Sudetenland medal, EK II (three citations, two provisional and the official one), Sturmabzeichen and Driver's Badge in bronze (both provisionals) he served with Stab Batterie of the II and III./ Panzerartillerie Regiment 73. He lost his lower right foot on November, 27th, 1.941 so he received the WBiS and was sent home.

Last the group to Hauptmann Gerd Jahn, he served with 20 and 56 Artillerie Regiment prior to serving with Panzer Artillerie Regiment 73 in 7. Batterie and in II and III Abteilungs.

He received the EK II, EK I, GAB, Ostmedaill, GAB III grade and the WBiS for being wounded in Hungary on March 22nd (twice) and 23rd, 1.945.

I have his Wehrpass, some photos, citation for the WBiS and documents from his wartime and post war, including an speeding ticket by the American MP and his fine.

This is my small collection related to this division, hope you like it as much as I do and someone can help me to add more pieces, no matter if individual citations to full groups. Now looking also for the divisional insignia.
