I guess I could be considered an old timer in the collecting world. I've been collecting on and off since the the 1970s. I sold my first collection in the early 1980s and I got the bug again in the 1990s.
I didn't beat the bush, hold hotel buys, etc like the the early pioneers of our hobby. I have always been on a budget and never really got into the whole buying and selling thing as a means to support my addiction. I generally preferred trading.
Well anyway the wife and I are both retired now and I've been getting my collection room in order. I still collect and have acquired a number of female items the last few months. My wish list is pretty small these days. If I can't display it, I don't need it!
Here is a general overview of my modest collection. Over time I will add more detailed pictures of selected pieces.
Yes there are reproductions in my collection. Some are fillers while others are there because I don't really think I'll find an original (because of cost or rarity). Many of my tunics and hats have replaced insignia. I picked up many on my uniforms in Germany where stripped pieces were fairly common.
So here is almost 50 years of my life. Warm regards Jim
