Since a couple of months I'm collecting primarily Infanterie Division 22.

I'm also looking for people who have document regarding Infanterie Division 22, as I'm trying to build a database of all its members. So if you same something lying around, you can always send my a message!

First of all, a little group of Nachrichtenoffizier of the 4th Batterie AR22 and later DKIG winner, Horst Külken:

Mr. Külken fought with AR22 from 1940 untill 1943. He served in Kampfgruppe Buhse (GR47 & II/.AR22) in Afrika and got evacuated just in time. After his Afrika Campaign he served as Chef of 5./AR 236 from the 162. (Turk.) Infanterie Division and with this unit he was awarded the DKIG.

Because of a head injury, Horst wasn't allowed to wear a Stahlhelm. Probably because of a motorcycle accident back in 1937.

Mr. Külken survived the war and lived a long life. He died on 10 december 2014 at the age of 96! He went to veteranmeetings and in 1954 he recieved a letter from an other veteran about a promotion to Leutnant.

The next couple of pictures are from a member of 11./IR 65. Most are taken in Holland during or shortly after the invasion.

Interesting collection. In post #3 it appears he is wearing an AFRIKAKORPS cufftitle as well as a Krimschild.

                              Hi Leiden,

I am from Verden and my Grandfather served in the II.(AR 22 as a Forward Observer.

I got into contact to some veterans (all are gone now) and I got some pictures.
Here in Verden we have a collector with a huge collection of the 22. ID. I hope he will write a book somedays, but that is unlikely.

                              Bye
                              Frank
