    Securing SA dagger in display case

    Hey all
    Pretty new to posting on this forum. I have a small collection of SA daggers and have recently purchased a display case to mount on the wall.
    The problem that I am having is how to secure the daggers within the case without marking them.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Saul ,fill the case with a sheet of soft to hard foam ,cover foam with cloth or felt, place your daggers in position and close the lid so the glass pushes the daggers into the foam and let the pressure of the glass hold them in place,obviously if you want to take them out to look at put the case down before opening kevin.

      I recently made a display interior from laser cut coloured acrylic as its one of the best materials that will not harm your collection. Buy a 5mm sheet cut to your sized in choice of colours and finish (matt/gloss), buy a few acrylic clear rods to size (short stubs) and all you have to do is slide in the back sheet being a snug fit will not move in your display cabinet due to thickness and rigidity, then using Tensol (type of plastic weld glue) will attached the rods in place for the SA daggers to sit on.

      My last project was mounting 20 ek2's in such a way using acrylic coloured sheets laser cut to my specs in my display case that ribbons don't get damaged whilst held in-place looking museum quality.

      Trent Plastics here in UK are very helpful supplying all whats required to your specs

              Great collection there paulruss. Seems quite a simple but effective method. Don't suppose you could send a close up of the covered nails?
