    Soviet Medals Display Board

Hi all. I need some input on the best way to display my Soviet era medals
since soviet medals are in various categories: Valour, labour, campaign, jubilee it a challenge to figure it out. Some here is my layout I have planned and would like any input.

What I am trying to do is to keep the display from looking statice, straight line across the board look. Upper Left are the various valor/bravery medals. upper right are the labor medals.
Below the Valor are the "defense medals" below them are the "capture/Liberation medals".
Below the Labor medals are the Jubilee medals for the GPW and below that are city jubilee medals.

in the center top to bottom: Hero of soviet union, Lenin's centenary, Victory over Germany, Japan medals. Red Army jubilees, and Irreproachable service.

Lower left are the "mother medals"/ lower right Red guards and qualification badges

      Hi Chief,

      WOW! What a great collection!!

I didn't realise you were so heavy into the Soviet awards. And they all look so sweet too! Really crisp and clean. And a Hero of the Soviet Union too. I'm impressed.

Well, my being simple minded, have you considered Riker mounts? Breaking up each category into a different mount? Since they are Soviet, you could use a red backing material. It would also be easier to explain the categories when you're conducting tours, or trying to enlighten the uneducated (such as myself). If you want to hang them up, there is also a company that makes nice looking wood frame mounts very similar to Riker mounts at about the same cost. I've seen them at Michael's stores.

Sorry I wasn't more help, but I definitely wanted to comment on your beautiful collection!!

Thanks Jim but I cannot tell a lie the HSU is a copy (awwww my bad!) I don't like Riker boxes if you stack them wrong they break. I have a Large Shadow box that this is going into. When I set up my displays I have USA, Third Reich, British, Japanese, Soviet, France and others So the Big Boxes work out for me - less to carry (less chance for the little buggers at school to run off with some) The Shadow boxes turn up every now and then at Goodwill (love the place).

Well, I think we can let you slide on that one.

Still, a beautiful collection. You should do a few close ups.
