Very cool Bill. Somehow I don't think that I'll have the same success finding items with my surname (Gibson) unless I start collecting Allied.

Good stuff, Bill. I like it all. The KVK doc is an interesting "unit specific" variant from Army Group Center - note the 1939 instead of a swastika on the motif. The doc is signed by von Kluge.

Very interesting. I thought about looking for items that had my family name on them. But thought I wouldn't have any luck.

Tanks for showing, you have some really nice items. Especially the tunic and the mapcase.

You don't make a differnece between Kramer and Krämer I see?
It looks almost the same off course.

By the way, I think i have a deathcard you could be interested in. I'll see if I can find it and post a picture.

In German, which two are pronounced the same?

                      Krämer and Cremer?

                      or

                      Kramer and Cremer?

and yes, please show the deathcard!

Krämer and Cremer would be pronounced the same. But in english it doesn't really matter.

I've found the deathcard. The guy has a pretty rare surname (Sepp, derived from Josef) and died in december 1941 at the gates of moscow.

                          Here you go:

yes, that was my point. Where I live, Kramer and Cremer are pronounced the same, but in German Kramer and Cremer are not.

...so collecting Krämer is fine as it sounds identical to the way I say Kramer in my native tongue!

If you ever want to sell your death card, please PM me! Thank you for sharing as well!

I understand the illness. I collect British & Commonwealth medals and groups to my surname or close variants, Birchall, Birchell, Burchall, Burchell. So far I have 33 of them dating back as far as the Crimean War and as near as the First Gulf War. Here they are here. I will add Kramer to my search bots
