              Very nice Andy!

              An unusual collection well displayed.

Is there anything written on that bell? It was a hell of a long time ago but I swear it is identical to the bell that we took turns to ring in junior school.

              Cheers,
              David.
At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

                Hi Andy,

This is a very cool collection. It's great to see some of the items our folks might have used at home. These are the sort of items you don't see much of anymore. These are especially neat when you consider living in London during the blitz was like being in the line!

                Very nice!

Thanks for all the positive comments!!

David, the bell is stamped ARP around the rim,and has the name 'FIDDIAN' stamped on the collar at the bottom of the handle,I presume this to be the model name.

                  Kind regards,
                  Andy
