    WWII German Enamel

I went nuts with German enamel organizational pins for a while. Here's a small sample...

    Starting with the Frauenshaft/Frauenwerk types

        Sweet.

I like those Red Cross pins, very attractive and colorful too. The one on the upper left, what does the gold wreath signify??

        Thanks.

The round, gold-bordered pin with the red cross batch is a Midwife badge. Here are a couple of close-ups...

                  Very nice, thanks.

The one I wanted to see if you get a minute, is the upper LEFT Red Cross pin. Black with Gold wreath. Neat looking.

These are nice. Maybe something to do other than the EK's. Are these type of pieces very expensive??

                  Thanks again.

Oh, my other left! According to JR Cone's reference 'book', it's a Senior Helper's Badge, type III. Wreath is silver interlocking swazs; center is domed with beautiful enamel work -- the pictures are the best I could muster from my old-tech camera.

10-15 years ago, these pins (for the most part) were reasonably priced with an almost infinite selection of different organizational types: political, red cross, veteran organizations, hobby associations, etc. Of course, the repros started to get more and more convincing so I quit them (this was pre-internet).

And the reverse -- the vent hole is similar to a gold party badge...

Even the grape growers and bike riders had their own pins!
