The Infantry Regiment 4, as part of the 32nd Infantry Division, exceeds by Friedland
German - Polish - frontier. It is the beginning of the Polish campaign and thus also the beginning of the Second World War.
Included is a seasoned sergeant of Infantry Regiment 4, who was already a member of the First World War. In the first rise Fighting over Monkowarsk and Gruczno the Vistula near Kulm, he distinguished himself by outstanding military leadership and bravery in the field of what to him as one of the first, the newly donated 2 EK was awarded.
In the course of the campaign, he took part in the siege and capture of the fortress Modlin, which capitulated on 29 September 1939.
I would like to present you in the following articles, the uniforms and equipment of the sergeant, as he could have fought at Modlin 1939. In the uniforms and equipment I have, however, first based only on me above the belt line
I have tried everything in several months of work harmoniously to put together. However, opinions, suggestions, or criticism is welcome ...
For erstwhile I would first two original to you - photos show, just as our sergeant has to be photographed shortly before the war began.
