    British General

This is the most historically significant uniform in my possession. It is the tunic, hat, Sam Browne, and swgger stick(I also have the trousers) for Lt. General Sir Edward Ashmore, known to his friends as 'Splashmore' (because if he were larger he would!) To get on with the story this is the father of air defence. In 1916 when the Germans were bombing London, Ashmore was called back from the front and tasked with stopping the attacks. He developed the ARP and designed the 'Filter Room' (in Battle of Britain movies that is the room with the big map board and the WAAF's pushing little model airplanes around to indicate direction) later during WWII all Dowding had to do was add the radar and voila modern air intercept was born.

This is really cheeky I know but can I ask how you came to get hold of this, and did you have to take up a second job to pay for it! I dont collect tunics myself, but that has got to be the most impressive one I have seen so far, and the history aswell, outstanding

A friend who knew he was going to be passing away let me buy it. He got it from the family years and years ago. Yes, it was a lot! Here are his pants. I need to find a mannequin small enough so I can display the whole set.
