...... Back to reality, it's feez'in-ass out there ! I've had this set over 30 years and it came as a true set - coat, pants, gloves and hood - but I was lucky enough to add something which I'll show a few posts down.

Of interest on the pants is a printing error/end of fabric flaw that was mended before the pants were made.

Now for the best part, circa 1984 I picked up this face mask out of Germany for near nothing - materials that construct it are identical to the hoods (ties, cloth etc.), It's well made with honest wear and I believe it's one of the only real ones ... question is, was made it as cold weather gear or for a sniper - there is a single foliage style loop over the left eye hole that would tend to suggest the later.

Size marked 3 in the neck, I had a mint set of pants for years before this jacket that was marked III on the pocket flap camo side - I figured I'd never find a clean jacket to match it, of course as soon as I sold it I found this one.

Wanted to repost this picture, should have put it right down below post 5 on page one, it shows probably as good as you will see these special SS winter pants. Ron Volstad put up some very good pictures of these pants being worn, mostly I believe showing the outer green side, here you see clearly on the soldier standing on the far left, and standing far right, the clear "boot flaps", also, when compared to the other soldiers wearing typical reversible pants, the absence of the crotch closure, and you see the "slits" allowing the wearer to access his pants pockets. The soldier on the far left standing and on the far right with the flashlight standing are wearing version which has a diamond quilting to the reverse, other pair exist in which the pants are simply box quilted exactly like the reverse of some standard winter pants, I believe SS or army, but also exactly as the SS winter Panzer Kombi.
