My Collection Website Up Finally - New to Forum

    Collector Community

After many years of collecting I am honored to have joined the forum and collector community. My Grandfather passed away 5 years ago. He was a WWII Veteran and brought back some War Booty of his own. His greatest capture however was not a K98 or SS Dagger. It was my Feisty Oma Lidwina his German War Bride. I have missed the companionship and collecting spirit he brought to me since age 15 over 30 years ago. He was a wise mentor, true friend and intelligent collector. I am hoping to connect with many of you for wisdom as well as gaining trusted collecting partner friends. We tried to procure quality items through purchases in Germany years ago, US vet buys, Midwest auctions & fellow trusted collectors.

I would love to have your opinions on our collection. It is not for sale but for the simple preservation of historical WWII Militaria. Please click the URL link below to view.

      Thanks Tom!

It is always fun posting your stuff and getting good feedback. I did find a buckle that some good fellow forum guys spotted as a 60's repro. I have tried to always do my homework but I am sure everyone has a scab or scar from this great hobby. I appreciate the kind words. I am no web master but did it on my own in 18 months. Guy has to work full time right to support the habit

          Cool!

I am glad you like it. I went bald, gray & a little crazy trying to do it all on my own but it is good to hear my collecting bruthas like it

          Appreciate the positive feedback

              Some Basics

I worked with an IT guy to get me Joomla Framework....Bought a name URL from Go Daddy. He set the frame up for about $250.00. I designed my own logo, graphics, did own photography, wrote copy & placed images. It really is not that hard. Just time consuming. Still have items to add from years of collecting but 90% there. Then there is the US Side of my collection from Grandpa to do yet.

Love it though. If I can help just let me know.

                    Cool thread

I know this thread won't get as many hits as something posted in Helmets or Medals, but it would be great to have an occasional thread mash up for posts like this....

                        Sincere Thanks

                        Arthur,

Very kind of you. I appreciate your comments. My Grandfather and I don't really have anything super rare. He was big on finding good buys and then trading or improving to a mint piece in time. Most of the items he would insist authenticity and quality. We did our best. Still enjoy it but it has not been the same going on picks, auctions and vet buys. He knew so many German Soldiers and American Soldiers who he had good connections with so finding stuff for him was easy. Now a little tougher. Anyway...It meant alot to see your validation. I just wish he was able to see the website. I must say joining the forum has been good for my heart and soul to be around other fellow collector nuts. (good nuts) Like Cashews!!!
