    Glass display cases for insignia?

    Hello

I hope this is in the right section. I am looking for a product suitable to display insignia but on a felt/material background, with glass in front which supports the cloth insignia pieces by friction.

I would also be interested in seeing pictures of other peoples insignia displays that use a product such as this to display them in.

    Many thanks

    They are called Riker mounts

Riker mounts work great, also if you want to get fancy, picture frames give you alot variety. Better for wall display, backing holds the insignia against the glass.

You will find lots of examples of Riker mount displays here in the collection threads. They come in lots of different sizes and depths. The thin ones work well for insignia and the thick ones are great for buckles and daggers. Special items deserve their own small Riker mount. They also fit well into most gun safes.

Never thought of that but it wouldn't work for bullion items. Matt

I have never had a problem with bullion items but I live in a dry climate. Climate has to be a consideration with different items.

As long as the environment in your display room is stable you won't have any problems.

A big thanks for all the input guys, I now know the correct terminology (Riker mounts) and it has made my search a lot easier. The picture frame idea is very good also, I might try both. Cheers

sometimes you can find wood "front load shallow display cases" that work well and look a little nicer than the cardboard type rikers.

I find them here in the US at Hobby Lobby.. not sure of a UK equivalent.

Thanks Brian, I'll have a look around. I agree though the cardboard type rikers aren't the best. Cheers, Pat

The wood cases are much nicer but cost 5-10 x as much.

I buy them at hobby lobby when they go 50% off (every other week).

I pay from 10-15 dollars for them depending on size.

I prefer the oak and glass cases----------

                          http://www.ebay.com/itm/S-D-Oak-USA-...item540e1edb55

They are easily found on ebay and come in different sizes.

Bad picture but you get the idea.
